We will begin rolling out Samsung SmartThings Hub firmware version 0.60.12 starting on March 25, 2026. This will be a phased rollout, so that we can keep a close eye on any issues that arise, so your hub may not be updated immediately. Once downloaded, your Hub will briefly go offline as it reboots and applies the update; most customers will experience less than one minute of downtime. We will update the status page when the release is complete.
Hub Target
Samsung SmartThings Hub 2015 (Hub v2)
Samsung SmartThings Hub 2018 (Hub v3)
Aeotec Smart Home Hub
Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2
ThingsOne Smart Home Hub
Release Period: 25 March 2026 ~ 03 April 2026
Note that this release will be spread out over the course of a week, so you may not see your Hub update on the first day of the release period. This release period is an estimate, so the rate of hubs updated and final completion date may vary slightly within the timeframe. Please check the status page for more up to date information on this release.
Release Notes
General
Improved reconnection times for Matter devices after power loss or connectivity events
Matter Cameras - Enhanced overall usability and stability, along with the following updates:
Added support for bridged cameras, enabling live-view and clip recording for non-Matter cameras connected through a Matter bridge.
Enabled local rule execution for cameras that support motion zones and clip recordings.
Updated WebRTC and PushAV interactions to support multi-stream changes, enabling combined video and audio recording on supported cameras.
Matter ICD (Intermittently Connected Device) Support
Added support for LIT (Long-Idle Time) mode for longer battery life on LIT-capable ICDs.
The hub now selectively sends follow-up unicast commands only to devices that fail to report a status update within the expected time, rather than sending unicasts to all devices after every group command. This reduces network utilization while maintaining reliability.
In the beta it was the other way, maybe the BILRESA issues were because of LIT? I never succeeded in changing the mode and since apparently a reset is needed you go back to default since the device ID changes.
Some sort of improvement on battery operated Thread devices must have happened late in this Beta cycle. Notably, my one CO sensor that kept dropping offline once per day has stopped doing that.
I also confirm the LIT/SIT choice has disappeared from the Advanced device view.
Nothing I can do as i am not on the location. (Romania)
Was connected via Wifi. Google WIFI sees the hub as offline.
I may reboot the wifi, but first wait. I rebooted the Wifi no succes.
This new hub is a kind of testing environmernt for Matter devices.
But the v4 hub gets its power from an Ecoflow battery and I was able to switch it’s AC off and on, and the v4 Hub is working again. Still the 59 firmware.
I have my ST hubs powered by WiFi smart plugs so that I can power cycle them remotely if needed. The WiFi plugs are controlled by a non-SmartThings app, so I still have control when SmartThings is not working properly.
We are stuck for the past hour on the SmartHub home page and the remote will not work while the SmartHub page is up. It defaults to the Samsung TV app but no other apps will open except the pre-programmed ones on the bottom of the remote and that’s only sometimes. Remote works fine as long as it is not on the Hub page.
Anyone tried 60.12 firmware with matter multi admin yet?
I’m tried it previously hand i think it contributed to stability issues so ive removed what matter devices id shared to alexa. Id like to get the air quality attributes of IKEA Alpstuga visible to alexa again though so I can build alexa routines based on them (only temp shows on c2c integration, and I dont want to go down the virtual switches route)
no, this firmware update is for stand-alone hubs only. TVs are not receiving updates at this time. TVs do not connect to the hubs so that should not be related to the remote through the app. Unless ST has made back-end changes on the cloud portion of the platform but they never disclose that info.
I’ve had firmware 60.12 for over a week now, and thus far it seems promising.
Unfortunately just before the update I also changed by zigbee channel to 20, so I’m not certain which of these two changes have increased my thread and zigbee stability, but so far I’ve not had any thread or devices go offline .
I’ve not re tried matter multi admin yet , I think I’ll leave that a while yet.
My champagne is back in the fridge . Just to prove me wrong my Ikea Alpstuga air quality monitor has gone offline after 8 days. Typical . I’m just going to leave it be and see will it ever rejoin on its own without a power cycle or a hub reboot.
