No, that would be my ST Wi-Fi hub that hasn’t been updated in years and is still running 52.xx. Hoping my fridge hub will get updated soon and hopefully get Thread 1.4.
I just noticed in the app, my ST Station had a new icon next to it. I selected it and on the details page there was a message that a firmware update was available with a button to start the update. (Sorry no screenshots). I clicked it and the ST Station updated to 60.13. I was surprised to see I could initiate the update manually.
Will there be a timeline or announcement for Appliance Hubs whether stable or beta? Also have Appliance hubs had betas in the past?
Also is there a reason that Appliance hubs lag behind the standalone hubs, are they less technically capable in any capacity?
no, ST does not announce nor give timelines for those releases.
they only release the finished release… no betas
one reason for delays is there are several teams that handle different areas
Is there a possibility we don’t get Thread 1.4 with this coming firmware?
Referring to the Appliance Hubs, they remained on 1.3 even with their latest firmware.
Anyone done much experimenting with multi admin , especially with Alexa? After some thread instability I decided to stop using multi admin, but since 60.12 firmware (and/or swapping zigbee channel) I think it’s much better for over 2 weeks now (18 days). I’d mostly want to share the Ikea Alpstuga to Alexa so I can have announcements based on air quality, but I’d happily forgo this if it makes matter less stable or causes any network drop offs.
I am using the Alpstuga with Apple as primary TBR, shared to ST and Alexa.
My experience is as I posted here
but I am at a loss to say if this is 60.12, Apple updates or simply my Thread network has stabilised.
Something has definitely improved between the 60x betas and the final 60.12 release. As I had already observed a little further up this thread, my one CO sensor that kept dropping off once a day has not done this once ever since, and it’s been weeks. None of my other Thread devices - they’re all IKEA except for this one CO sensor - have acted up either.
[edit: Just to spite me after I wrote this, the CO sensor went offline today.]
Unfortunately, even with the upgrade to 60.14 today on my fridge hub, the Thread version is still 1.3.

Interesting my Soundbar just updated to 60.14 as well and it has Matter 1.5 and must have Thread 1.4 as I can now manage it’s Thread Network once I removed it from the hub group. This makes 3 out of 5 hubs now with Matter 1.5 and Thread 1.4 for me; 2 Stations with firmware 60.13 and 1 Soundbar with version 60.14. My TV and Fridge are still on firmware 50.13 with Matter 1.4 and Thread 1.3. I’ll keep you posted when they update if I see any changes.
The Soundbar has built-in Thread radio correct? Wondering if the dongle radio is the reason the fridge isn’t getting Thread 1.4? The fridge is running Matter 1.5 however.
Yes that is correct.
I’m wondering the same. I know the dongle only works with Fridges (2022 or older I believe), Monitors (2021-2022 I believe), and TVs (2021-2022 I know for sure). Everything made in 2023 and newer was supposed to have Built-In-Hubs. My 2023 TV does, my 2023 Soundbar did, (Samsung Bought it back due to firmware bug they refused to acknowledge but proved to almost brick it like the 2024 models) and my 2025 Soundbar that I replaced it with is equiped with it. I also know 2023-2026 year TVs, Washer/Dryers & Combos, Fridges, and Soundbars have these hubs if they are a high enough model (mostly flagships).
You can also now see the thread version within the SmartThings app.
You are correct, you can see the Thread version now. Thank You.
Sounds likely, doesn’t it? It’s not the first bit of new functionality the dongle has been excluded from over the last two or three years. It’s also not the first product that has lasted much longer than Samsung’s interest in it.
Where is it displayed?
