Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 7 only displays Battery Life

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

I just added an Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 7 (Gen 7) to my smartthings hub, but when I check the device it only shows me the battery life. There’s no info on whether or not the sensor is open or closed.

If I place the two pieces close together I see a red light go off from the device, so it looks like the hardware is detecting a change. I just don’t know why the closed/open status is not shown in the smartthings app.

Yes, I’ve had similar issues. Try excluding the device from the Z-Wave utilities inside the hub menu, pair it again, this time a couple feet from the hub, give it a few minutes.
If that doesn’t work, check inside the IDE to see what device type it’s assigning it. You may need to switch it to a Z-Wave open/close sensor.

Manually switching it to a Z-Wave open/close sensor seems to add the Open/Close status now, but unfortunately the sensor status doesn’t seem to be updating at all.

Try Z-Wave door/window sensor in the IDE. That’s what I’m using for an older model and it runs locally without any issues.

hey i have the sane issue. unpairing and pairing does not help. neither changing type of device in ide.

did you resolve your problem?
