Problems with Aeotec Door Sensor

Hi, I bought Recessed Door Sensor 7 and can’t pair it with my hub properly.

I added it using QR code first, and it seemed to work, it showed up as door sensor, but would never update the open/close state and red LED was constantly ON.

I then removed it from my account, removed the battery, inserted again, tried to pair again, it paired, but now shows as a switch. This time the red LED is off, until I bring the second part of the sensor close, then it turns on briefly.

However, the device never becomes a door sensor in the UI (I waited hours).

Am I doing something wrong? It’s the only Z-Wave device I have, the other ones are Zigbee. Sensor is literally half a meter from the hub.

Here is how the pairing worked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcM7V4mhSkU

Make sure to have the correct driver installed:

Well, that seemed very promising, but isn’t working unfortunately. I didn’t have these installed, I installed them now and they show up:

But when i add the sensor, it picks “Z-Wave Switch” as a driver and doesn’t show any other drivers to choose from.
I even deleted that “Z-Wave Switch” driver, re-added the device, and it was re-added automatically.

When you removed the device from your account, you also do a device reset to try to pair it again?
See if the device has all zeros in the “model” and/or “manufacturer code”, if yes, your device doesn´t unpair well, this explaining why is identified as a switch instead of a contact.
If yes, remove the device from smartthings and do the hard reset procedure of the door sensor before trying to connect it again.

A complete list of the installed drivers would be more helpful.

Ah, thanks! I found the hard reset procedure now here, added the sensor once more and now it picked the correct driver that Andreas suggested.
