Hello everyone! I have been using the Clamp Energy Meter from Aeotec for some time. When I select the device in Smartthings, I can see the current energy consumption as well as the consumption history of the last few days. So far, everything is fine.
In the Smartthings app, there is an area called “Energy”. You should also be able to see the energy consumption of compatible devices there. For me, the Clamp Energy Meter is listed in the “Energy” area in the menu as a “supported device”. Despite this, I can’t see any consumption data there. What could be the reason for this?
But if i Navigate to the “Energy” Area in Smartthings (where u also find pet care and music sync and other stuff) theres no data from the Aeotec Clamp Energy Meter:
If i click on the three buttons in the top right i can navigate to the menü “supported device”. Like you can see in the Screenshot, theres the Aeotec Clamp Energy Meter listed as supported device. But why does it not generate some data if its supported?
I’m not really paying attention here, because I’m out in the wilderness, but you could try this driver:
Make sure to change the driver in the devices “Treiber”. I don’t have any Z-Wave devices and I’m not sure what happens when you change its driver though.
I have just installed the “Mark Johnston” driver. Now when I click on the device in the smartthings home screen I can see the voltage in volts, whereas before I only saw the kWh. So far it’s an improvement. I’ll keep an eye on whether it has also made a difference in the energy area. So far there hasn’t been any difference, but it might take some time to update. Thank you very much.
If everything else fails and you don’t have any other devices in the STEM, you could try to delete the smart app in “Alltag” tab and add it back with the plus sign in the upper right corner.
sorry for not writing back. I was briefly blocked for too many posts as a newbie. I just deleted the Energy Smart app and reinstalled it. Now the Clamp Energy Meter is no longer listed under “supported device”. I think this device simply doesn’t work with this service. Which is a real shame…
it would be very useful if you could record the power consumption of such a clamp energy meter in the Energy App.
That would probably be the only way to measure the total power consumption in the entire building.
