Change the driver back to the Aeotec driver. Delete the STEM app and add it back.
Have you talked to the Aeotec support?
It would be a shame if it wouldn’t work.

I tried changing the driver and reinstalling STEM, but that didn’t help. The Aeotec Clamp Energy Meter still appears under unsupported devices. Aeotec Support might be the last option.
Hello everyone. I have been in contact with Aeotec over the last few days regarding the integration of the Aeotec Clamp Energy Meter into the Smartthings Energy app. I was told that I should install the standard driver for the energy meter, as Smartthings Energy apparently does not support Edge drivers. I did this, but it did not help. The Aeotec employee then came to the conclusion that this is apparently not supported by Smartthings Energy at all. He will now pursue the issue so that the Clamp Energy Meter will hopefully be compatible in the future.
Hi @kusi18 and @Andreas_Roedl ,
no news here I guess? I would be happy, if there are - pls let me know!
I have a very similar -or the same- problem regarding one Aeotec Smart Switch6 (called “Strom Serverschrank” in this scenario) which I integrated successfully into Smartthings.
It shows all the Capabilites/Attributes (energyMeter & energy / powerMeter & power within the device.
And appears in the supported devices section of the EnergyApp.
But it doesnt show in or is a part of the statistics and overview?
Aeotec is THE official hardware partner for Samsung Smartthings. Why are their Energy-Measurement-Devices not part of the supported devices within the EnergyApp (but Aqara Zigbee Outlets are by the way)?!
Hi @stillerson
Unfortunately, no news from me. I have since switched to Shelly. Their energy meter is not compatible with smartthings, but I can see everything I want in the Shelly app.
Hey guys the HEM Gen 5 is not a supported device for the SmartThings Energy Service.
I have a different issue with the Aquara Plug and the new Aquara H2 EU outlet. One device is supporting the Energy Service the other one is not.
At IFA 2024 i talked with 2 girls from the HQ from Samsung and there told me it should be come in december 2024. There will add much devices from aquara and aeotec to the energy service.
Until this you need to check it manually
Which is which?
This normal plug outlet is supporting the Energy Service
The new H2 EU outlet is not supporting the energy service yet. You will se the voltage the ampere and the energy consumtion on the device card but in the SmartThings Energy Service it is not supported device
Hi @kusi18
A few weeks ago I had the same experience as you. After the Aeotec drivers for the HEM Gen5 were updated, I installed the same driver as a test. However, Aeotec offers two drivers. In addition to the “Home Energy Meter Gen5”, there is also the “Home Energy Meter” (without the Gen5 designation). This is the only way I can display the data in the Smartthings Energy Service. This was also possible before the driver update. I use the HEM Gen5 with 1 clamp in Germany.
By the way the negativ Power (-18,8 W) belongs to my Solar-Energy.
There is already a page on Aeotec for that device: Aeotec works with SmartThings Home Energy Meter - Aeotec
Hi @grgnhs,
I want to try but wanted to confirm. You are using the HEM Gen5 with 1 clamp and installed the “Home Energy Meter” Aeotec Edge driver (the one without the Gen5), correct?
Hallo @ascernas77,
Yes, that is correct.
I’m using this Aeotec HEM Gen5 (1 Clamp) since March to visualise and record the power, electricity consumption, yield and surplus and to switch some devices depending on the power of my balcony power plant.
Over the time I tried all the drivers which are discussed in the community. Some of these drivers are showing more than just Power and Consumption. But for long-term-monitoring over month the Smartthings Energy Service is a feature which for me is more important than the other possible capabilities.
According to my experience so far, this only works with this Aeotec driver (without the Gen5 addition in the name).
Mhh okay i will try on the weekend to reinstall the HEM Gen5 3x clamps in germany.
Im excited if i see the clamps in the energy service.
I will give you guys an update.
Hi,
I use this device (Gen5, 1 clamp) too to control solar generation and control routines to automate the operation of heating and others, depending on the surplus.
I use my Z-Wave driver Electric Meter Mc
In case you are interested, I have published a new version today that works with the Energy Meter app
Hi, Thank you for the clarification. I have tried that and finally I can see the HEM Gen5 reporting to the Smartthings Energy Service.
So far, I did the following:
+Uninstalled all other Aeotec HEM related drivers,
+Removed the HEM from ST.
+Installed the “Aeotec Home Energy Meter” Driver
+Added the HEM back again and ST recognized right away as “Aeotec Energy Monitor Gen5”
+Then I uninstalled the Smartthings Energy Service.
+Re-installed the Smartthings Energy Service and the Service suggested me to add the new Energy Monitor. I did that and in about 30 mins I started noticing reporting the energy usage on it, so it worked as it should
Hope this process helps anyone else out there
Thank you again to @grgnhs
Thank you very much @Mariano_Colmenarejo
for your great work and the notification. I just installed your latest driver and I’m very impressed.
Hallo Alejandro,
what exactly is the reason for all those steps you took before selecting the driver? I have never re-set up the device since the installation and have not uninstalled any drivers except one.
I havn’t lost any data in the Smartthings Energy Service either, just a few small gaps in the recordings, e.g. when I tried the “HEM Gen5” driver.
Last night I installed @Mariano_Colmenarejo driver after he integrated the Energy Service. All the data just keeps running and the HEM now shows the power meter (W) and energy meter (kWh) as well as the voltage (V) with history (24h/31d) and the electrical current (mA). What more could you want? It’s perfect!
Have a nice weekend
I’m also waiting for Smartthings Energy feature for this Aqara Wall Outlet H2EU. In my electrical installation there are some separately secured circuits that are not covered by the HEM Gen5. Two heaters, washing machine and dishwasher, boiler, etc. The load capacity of the small Aqara Smart Plug EU is not sufficient to process the power and consumption of these devices in ST energy. I had relied on the wall socket and am now very excited to see if this will come.
I new to all this and really appreciate all you have done. Where do I go for user created drivers so I can find and install your energy driver?
