Aeon Labs Minimote - Button Controller App Won't Install

I just added an Aeon Labs Minimote to my ST hub, but I’m having trouble installing the Button Controller App to use with it. I get a red error message saying “Sorry, but there was an unexpcted error.” This happens after entering the Button Controller app, just after choosing my button device and pressing next on this screen:

Is this happening to anyone else?

Yes, I am getting the same error. Looks like you are doing this on an Android phone. I also tried on an Iphone 6s, and it says failed to assign a button. To no avail can I figure out how to do this.

I just bought 2 minimotes, and installed the button app (iOS) but found that creating a basic piston in CoRE gives you more functionality and devices also react faster… so my recommendation: don’t use the button app at all

I have installed the Button Controller+ app found here: https://github.com/bravenel/SmartThings/blob/master/Button%20Controller%2B And I have an Aeon Minimote V1 I have it setup and working, however, I am confused as to the “DimLevel 1” and “DimLevel 2” options. What I would like to see happen is press button 1 to turn on the light, and the next press be dim level 1, the next press be dim level 2, and the next press be off. Is this possible?

Decided to write out an updated Aeon Minimote device handler so I could do testing without having the remote in hand all the time. I’ve seen great ideas like the one that installs an individual virtual button per button device selected via Virtual Buttons SmartApp, but didn’t feel like having my device list spammed with each button as an additional device. So I went ahead and upgraded the tiles for the SmartThings Aeon Minimote device handler. Would be cool to get the main Aeon Minimote device handler updated with the UI, but haven’t had time to look through submitting pull requests and requirements/acceptable standards yet. Thank you so much! I tried the updated app and it still gave the error. I updated the device handler successfully, but it still won’t work with the Button Controller App (or the + version)

I installed CoRE this morning and the Minimote is working flawlessly
