Adding Nuki Smart Lock Pro (5th gen) to SmartThings over Matter problem

Hi Andreas,

Not sure what you mean with device presentation but I added some screenshots of the SmartThings app.

In SmartThings I only have lock and unlock. In the Nuki app I have all functions.

That’s what I expected: wrong profile that doesn’t support unlatch.

The correct profile doesn’t even exist yet.

*Edit: the Nuki device fingerprints were added four days ago to the new Matter lock driver. It’s already in main and as soon as it’s in production the unlatch feature of your lock should work.

But I don’t care about the unlatch option, the problem in this thread is that I can’t connect the lock over Matter to SmartThings.
Or at least not with my Iphone 15, but I could with my fathers Iphone 11.

So this:

There’s currently an issue with the iCloud. We already know that.

Well. Brand new Nuki lock installed today. Cant add it to matter / icloud. Tried old ipad, 2.4ghz wifi, ios 18.4
Nothing.
Sick of this lock now

I would agree given the emails ive had, but i added my Tado stuff without issue and a new govee light too. Its affecting Nuki only in my house

The Matter commissioner in the iOS 18.4 Beta (< beta 4) was broken.

With what phone are you trying to add?
IOS or Android?
And is it the same phone as the one were you added your previous lock with?

Iphone 15pro. Ipad Pro. Iphone SE.
Tried them all.

ive been emailing Nuki about this issue before ios 18 was even made and they failed to accept it was a problem. Its been over 12 months.
Now they blame 18.4? It was broken somewhere in 17.
My old ipad and phone used to work to add it but even they fail now. They are on ios 17

Also thats not the error code i get.

Hmmm….

My (old) iPad wouldn’t work either and the 6s I have laying around I didn’t bother to try.

My 15 Pro Max didn’t work, my old (now dad’s) 11 did work with ios 18.3.

Nuki said “so no problem on our side, see ya” after I got it added with the old phone.

Apple Care last suggestion was my work profile I have on this phone. Have to check with our IT if there might be a link there.

I cant get the latest beta vesrion of 18.4 but im not confident its fixed in that. I get the impression Nuki wash their hands of it. The new Aqara and Eufy locks look good.
Also the new Nuki pro they sent me has a new motor. Its quieter to be fair but half the speed. Its painful. Ive set battery to performance and optimised locking. Might as well use a key.

It was a bug in an earlier beta version and it’s been fixed.

Well… Get an Aqara or Eufy then. It’s absolutely never ever the fault of Apple. Beta versions of an operation system don’t have bugs. That’s impossible!

18.4 fixes nothing for me. Proved that.

@welshbryn you could call Apple Care amd see what they can do for you.
I had them on the phone for an hour last time, very helpfull even if it didn’t actually fixed the problem (yet).

Thanks :+1:t2: yes ive always found Apple to be helpful with stuff
I have however Fixed it with another ipad thats still on 17. Took a few attempts but it got there. Ill keep that ipad sterile from updates for now lol. I hope they sort this.
I did try an andoid tablet beforehand and that failed every time too. Thats on the latest android

I know they say its an icloud ios 18.4 issue but i managed to delete my govee lights and add them back no issues so Nuki have some blame in the process somewhere

Are your Govee lights Matter (over Thread)?

Ooo good question, im not sure but im Sure TadoX is and i added a wireless thermostat a few days back no issues

Either way, i first raised this issue in December 2023 with Nuki. Ios 18 was not a thing so thats not to blame. Its taken to now for them to acknowledge its an issue. Their support team, as mentioned gave me the basic stuff like restart the hub, change to 2.4, tske out the batteries.
Bottom line is its not good enough
