Z-Wave Ecolink Motion sensor goes offline when idle

I own 3 of these, they are all within a similar range of the hub… and they are all using default edge drivers. One shows as offline when idle though, it responds to motion events fine, and then will stay connected for an hour or up to almost 3, but then go back to offline. I’ve tried removing and pairing it again but it continues to have the same issue. Fresh batteries do not make a difference either. Is there anything else I can try?

I’m using the Z-Wave Contact Sensor driver from @philh30 for my Ecolink and not having any issues. Might want to give it a try. Subscribe to his channel and install it from there.

That channel shows forbidden for me… are you using that driver with the Motion Sensors?

Oops. I misread it. I’m using it with the Ecolink Contact Sensors. Not sure if the motion/tilt are supported, but wouldn’t hurt to try.

Try this link instead.

@nayelyz , Tagging you if you are looking for more data points on this issue.

@qwertypo , I too have this issue and @nayelyz has been helpful in alerting the dev team about it. At least it has been acknowledged as an issue to fix.

Hi, @qwertypo
If you haven’t changed the driver used by the device from the official SmartThings one to a Community driver.
Could you share the device model (we know the brand is Ecolink) and the hub logs, please?
Provide the Hub logs by following these steps:

  1. In the Advanced Users app, enter the “Hubs” section
  2. Enter the corresponding Hub and click on “Dump Hub logs”
  3. On that same page, you’ll find the Hub ID, could you share it with us as well, please?

Hub ID: 24FD5B0000002598
Model: 014A-0001-0001
There is no community driver that I see, just the official driver so that is what I am using.
Z-Wave Sensor: d58d8432-ea22-4d38-8300-2bd75fdf1358

Let me know if you need anything other details

Thanks for the info, I found the device in the catalog:

Did you send the Hub logs as I mentioned above?
Can you confirm which type of Hub you have, please? V2, V3 (Aeotec), or Wi-Fi

I requested the logs. It seems like they download directly to you?

The hub is v2

No, I don’t have access actually, that’s why I wanted to confirm to specify that in the report about this. Only the engineering team can get them.
Thank you for the confirmation
