Z-Wave Devices Aren't Working Since Update (July 2023)

It looks like my hub received an update and now I have routines not working as well as z-wave devices not being fully enabled. I have a z-wave motion switch where the motion sensor isn’t even an option anymore in the app. In IDE it shows the capability but there are nor more events since July 6th.

Also my virtual switches are no longer functional.

You should stop using IDE and use the new Advanced Web App - https://my.smartthings.com/advanced

For z-wave issues, probably not firmware but the migration to Edge drivers for devices.

For the motion sensor, what is the brand/model and what driver is it using? Again, do not use IDE to find this info :slight_smile:

Same deal with any other z-wave devices…. Post brand/model and driver used.

These are GE/ Jassco 26931, using the ‘Z wave switch’ driver. There isn’t another driver showing that implies motion, but I have tried switching to z-wave sensor but they didn’t work.

I saw that thread before but it didn’t say how to actually create them. Just going through the add devices function in the web app didn’t show any virtual type devices.

enroll and install @philh30 Edge drivers for GE/Jasco on your hub. Switch the current stock Edge driver to it by opening the device in the app, tap 3 dots, tap Driver and switch there or use the Advanced Web app linked above to switch.

that is it… create a device, choose the device type and add… when you look at the device in the devices section… it will show as Virtual.

Vision z-wave plus zm1601-us strobe and siren
Shows up as switch not an alarm.
