Yale Keyfree Connected - error when trying to pair

Hi,

I’m wondering if someone would be able to help.

I’m having trouble reconnecting my Keyfree Connected Smart Lock(the PIN entry version) to SmartThings after resetting my SmartThings account, which wiped all connected devices.

I’ve factory reset the unit, removed battery and re-inserted the Z-Wave module, I hear the welcome to digital world message.

When I attempt to reconnect the lock, I enter the master code, 4 #. but now it plays an error sound when I press the 1 button. The error sounds before I press the hash.

Door is a few feet and in direct line of site from the hub.

I’ve tried the exclusion on the hub.

Hub has also been rebooted.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

Thank you

I am assuming that means you were unsuccessful in the exclusion?

So, let’s check on a few things…

  • you are putting the hub into exclusion mode?
  • Then follow the steps on the lock to complete the exclusion?

Just curious… why did you reset your Samsung account?

So i set exclusion on the hub which gives me a 15 second window to try and pair the device. I’m assuming that’s how it’s supposed to be used based upon what I’ve researched.

So I follow these steps:
-Set hub into exclusion mode
-Enter master key, #
-Enter 4, #
-Enter 1, # (where i hear error beeps)

For some reason my Samsung account location was set to Australia and I’m in the UK. So as part of the process of changing my location to the UK everything has to be reset.

Thank you

No that’s wrong. You should put the hub in exclusion mode then do the device disconnect sequence

After that, you add a device in SmartThings and when it’s looking for a new device, you use the connect sequence

Thank you so much! That’s solved it, I wrongly assumed the exclusion was to bypass any original connections, I didn’t’ realise it allows for the removal!

Thank you again!
