Why is SmartThings always broken?

" I’ll just say that when I decided to abandon zwave devices for zigbee that my experiences with ST improved monumentally".

Agree 100%. I have yet to have the first issue with a zigbee device but have had many with zwave. Now I seek out zigbee device with the same function as the zwave version. I’ll happily pay more for zigbee if need be.

Idk, my buttons and outlets work about 10% of the time. I have little faith on this, unless there’s something I’m missing.

that’s strange, never had an issue with mine. always have an immediate response unless thw platform is having issues

totally agree with this statement…zigbee is way more stable.

anyone know of a zigbee dry contact relay for that has native smart things support ? i use an orvibo one at the moment but it has no physical button to turn it on and wont run locally with the device handler i use now.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think the Tuya Zigbee MS104z Will work out of the box with smartthings. It’s sold under a bunch of different brand names, including MOES and Samotech. Quite a few people On Hubitat use it.

I believe that’s the same model that @Andremain reported on a little while ago.

Tuya Zigbee 3.0 switch

You have to wire that into the mains, though, so I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for.

Also, check The model number carefully, there is an identical looking version which is Wi-Fi only. That one is MS104 (no “z”). The zigbee model has the “z” in the model number: MS104z.

You’re goddamn right with your statements. I’m thinking about to change it on something else.

There are a few others that have reported their buttons just not working as well. It’s always they all work or they all don’t.

Thanks will try one and see how i go

Never before have I identified with a statement so deeply with every fiber of my being.

Completely agree with this… I’m sick of arriving home and my lights coming on as they should but then switching back off within a minute off getting home, leaving the house in complete darkenss

I’m having problems with my Samsung leak detector. I spoke with a Samsung rep and she told me to remove the device. I asked “If I remove the device, will I have to be onsite to add it again”. Her response was that I can add it remotely. Guess what, device is removed and now I have to drive 40 miles to reset it! Samsung SmartThings products are absolute garbage. I’m looking for alternatives. They don’t even sell these sensors anymore.
