WeMo device types not appearing in 'new device' list

After some more digging I found my answers (well not so much answers but solutions) in these 2 threads

Wemo switch integration

Hi there. I bought the smartthings hub v2 but can’t connect my wemo switches. App doesn’t find them automatically and they are not in the options. Any ideas?

You also need to publish your own version of the WeMo Connect smart app. Then run the smart app from the My Apps section of the Smart Apps marketplace in the SmartThings Mobil App. This should initiate a search for WeMo devices on your network.
