Wall mounted tablet for smart home...do I really need it?

Thanks. I will try it today after work

You can install a “VNC” App (remote access client; various other brands available) onto any Android tablet (including magic mirror, I presume) in order to login to ActionTiles.

ActionTiles’s logins currently do not expire once logged in. Big fix over SmartTiles.

I am new to the community so please forgive me if I break any unspoken rules but I had to share my positive experience. Like many I wound up re-purposing an old security alarm Key pad. I did not re-use the existing wiring (did not want to risk screwing things up) just the anchor points and the large hole in my wall. I found a $20 tablet mounting frame and purchased a $20 USB outlet that excepted 120V common house hold current, and wiring.
As far as why do it… Why not, if for nothing else its a heck of a conversation piece. I use Alexa for most of my home automation interactions but to enter the house and see the Belkin App on the Screen with all of the lights and automated switches labeled on a led or to see My Sonos play List on the screen for me to just hop to what ever track I want (and adjust the volume) from the hall way wall, just blows peoples mind.
In a more practical application it is helpful to have a good Calendar app up on the screen. With a wife and 2 active kids there is a lot of coming and going and to have your agenda right there just as a reminder has been very helpful as I am about to walk out the door.
MY Primary home screen app’s are: Wemo, Sonos, Nest, Onkyo, and Google Calendar. As Backups I have on another screen; Alexa, Harmony, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Weather and Google Wifi.

I hope this helps Someone.
