Hi i have just bought an Aqara hub and tried to integrate it in to my smattering v2 hub but all i am getting are error codes is this not possible with the v2 hub and should i upgrade to the v3 hub for this to work thanks .
One other person reported this yesterday, but prior to that other people had reported successful link ups, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Do you have other Matter devices successfully working with your V2 hub?
If so, check to make sure the aqara firmware is up to date, and take a quick glance through the following checklist…
FAQ: What do I need to add a Matter device to the SmartThings app? Do I need a bridge router device?
After that, you may need to open a support ticket. The first person you get will probably be a general Samsung employee working from a script and may not know much about smartthings, but persevere, and it should get escalated to a smartthings engineer who can take a look at it.
Adding an aqara m2 hub to a smartthings v2 hub via matter is definitely a supported integration, so it does sound like something may have broken.
Hi yes made sure everything was up to date with the firmware will keep trying throughout the day see if i can get it to work failling that i will contact support thank you for your time and response much appreciated .
Did you ever get a resolution to this? I am having a similar issue, i am trying to connect an Aqara E1 Hub to my V2 Hub, but it just sits telling me to prepare my device after inserting the matter code.
I solved this issue by ensuring that both devices were on the same WiFi network.
I had one on a guest network and the other one regular due to the specific WiFi requirements of the E1. As soon as they were both in the same network, it found it immediately.
Thanks! Forgot i had a network extender, must have been connecting through that. Powered that off and it paired first try!
It’s really annoying that something that simple can be so difficult to resolve.
They don’t warn you anywhere that it needs to be on the same network!
We do.

make sure the device you want to add is on the same Wi-Fi network as the controller and commissioner devices
I didn’t think of checking!
Thanks so much for all the time you put into helping others!!!
You guys are totally amazing!!!
So the E1 hub works as a matter border router? Aqara documentation is very vague about it… all I want is some Aqara ZigBee devices that misbehave when connected natively to ST to be exposed to ST via E1 hub via matter…
