V1 hub dead, help with moving to Wifi hub

So my kid “helped” me re-arrange my office and in the process crushed the v1 hub. Lots of rattling parts inside and will not power on. I ordered a new ST Wifi hub from Amazon, and I’m a little perplexed on how to begin. From what I read, I think I need to have the v1 hub online to exclude all of my devices, yes?

You can exclude the z-wave devices with the new hub. You’ll have the setup the new hub with the new app. After that you can use either app to exclude you’re zwave devices and re-setup everything.
