Unable to add SmartThings Hub 2015 (STH-ETH) to SmartThings app

I have read various discussions about this but don’t seem to have a definitive answer on how to add a v2 2015 hub to the SmartThings app as it produces this error when trying to add the device

Some topics such as STH-ETH hub problems - inherited hub won’t connect - #9 by Malekfahl suggest contacting support but the only support teams I have found for SmartThings so far are the US team, who redirected me to the UK team, but I can’t seem to find the correct place to raise this issue with them

Port 39500 is open on the device, so I know that it is functioning and on my wired network correctly, and thus would have access to any cloud connections it should need

All advice very welcome - many thanks

what is the model number for your V2 hub?

have you attempted to reset the hub?

factory reset by following these directions:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the Hub
  • Using a pin or a small tool, hold down the reset button on the back of the Hub
  • While continuing to hold down the reset button, replace the power cable
  • When the LED on the front turns to a solid yellow (not blinking yellow) you have successfully performed a factory reset of the hub.

You can try contacting ST support through the ST app. Tap on Menu and select Contact us.

Hi - thanks for the reply and yes I have fully reset the hub using the flashing yellow, then solid yellow procedure. It then boots to a green light but same problem unluckily

The hub model and serial is as per below but it is a STH-ETH-200

and thanks - yes I have sent a message to ST support too but wanted to see if anyone here had solved the problem also

BTW this is how I tested the hub was alive and listening on port 39500
