Tuya Temperature and Humidity Sensor

I have a few of these that I’m trying to add to SmartThings. but they don’t work (interestingly work fine with the Echo Show Zigbee hub.

Any ideas how to get it working correctly?

  • application: 49
  • endpointId: 01
  • manufacturer: TUYATEC-yg5dcbfu
  • model: RH3052
  • zigbeeNodeType: SLEEPY_END_DEVICE

What’s the device’s Raw Description? It should be in the format like this:

Also, did you get these to join? If not, try joining them via the Classic app or “Scan” or use “generic zwave” in the new app (I know that sounds weird).

If/When it joins, change the DTH to “SmartSense Temp/Humidity Sensor” and see if that makes the device work.

Thanks mate!

I have it working, now just trying to figure out how to get it to display C instead of F

You bet!

What do you have set for your temperture scale? I believe it should use that to determine what to use.

Yeah found that quickly after I posted… Not too hard lol

Thanks again for all your help

I just got one of these dirt cheap and paired easy then just changed device handler.
Is yours still working OK no problems?

No it didnt work with Alexa, so I ended up changing back to using the Echo Show 2 Zigbee hub.

Did anybody get the display on the sensor itself to shoe Fahrenheit instead of Celsius?

Hi, just added one of those and it shows as a “Thing” in smartthings. Can you share the device handler you are using? I could not find anyone in the web that works…

Change device type to Smartsense temp/humidity

Thanks very much! I can now see temp and humidity. Battery status does not work though. Any clue?

Try pressing the button one more time see if it makes it report state or if that doesn’t work wait a day or so and battery status should show up.

Thanks, I will try!

I seemed to be able to add through the new app, choosing Smartsense temp/humidity (which adds it as “thing”, like above), but when I click on device after it is added, says can’t communicate. Something I am doing wrong?

Did you change the dth in ide?

No, I had not done that. So I just went in to ide and saw that they were showing as “Samsung TV”. Changed them to Smartsense temp/humidity sensor. I’ll see if that sets them working. Thanks!

You may have to clear cache in the app for the dth to show properly.

This was the solution! I hope others find this. I bought one on eBay for $10.00 with shipping from China. Will buy more. They work great!

I just got mine added and temp/humidity are both working, but it’s also showing the battery at 0%. Did yours eventually show up?

Mine showed battery, but it did take longer to register this reading than the temp/humidity readings.
