Transfer V2 Hub and Devices to Son

I setup my V2 Hub at my sons house. He has full access etc. Its working great but need/want to transfer ownership to my son. From my research it’s not just a magical transfer button.

  1. Any shortcuts to transfer devices such as export from Advanced dashboard?
  2. Been a awhile but I had to find some edge drivers, how are these handled now?

Not a large system but if any export/import or can a backup be made, then restore under a new owner?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Possible theory: This feature may only be available to V3 and more recent hubs. You may want to reach out to ST Support and see if they can provide more details on why it is not appearing for you.

Unfortunately there isn’t between two separate accounts. Simplest is keep as it currently is with you as owner and they get full access. Unless Support gets back to you that a V2 hub can be transferred to another account or not. If not, then I imagine you can only reset the hub and set it back up to the new account and set up the devices manually, one by one.

But reach out to Support first on if the V2 can be transferred or not through the app.

Nor do I on this phone, but it should also be in the three dot menu on every Room on the Devices tab and I do see that

However I do see the option on another phone so it is probably an ownership thing. You can only transfer devices that you ‘own’ yourself and hub devices can only be transferred as a batch with the hub itself. So if, like me, you sometimes use whatever phone is nearest to install hubs or devices you are storing up problems should you ever want to use this functionality.

Just to add to the fun, if you have devices that were installed a few years ago they probably don’t even have an owner.

When I look at this menu wary few of my devices are available for transfer. It appears only my newer devices probably connected to my Station hub are available.

My v2 hub is not available for transfer, but my Station hub is available.

I don’t suppose there’s any way to fix this… ?

My screen, again maybe a v2 issue and the devices were installed within 14 months.

I just fired up my V2 hubs on another Location. I get the ‘Give devices to someone else’ option on the Devices tab because I own cloud devices. I don’t get any hub devices offered to me.

Just an update,

I engaged with tech support, encountering shallow assistance filled with unhelpful canned responses. No genuine effort to provide a constructive solution, merely pushing for a swift resolution to boost their metrics.

I suppose my path is to download as much info from smartthing advanced website
