Hiya - I am looking at purchasing an Olide sliding door opener for pet accessibility. Ideally I’d like my pets to be able to let themselves in and out as they please thru the day- and there is a kit for this on their site.
The reason for my post is that it is super unclear to me if there is programmability for restricted access times ie after 10pm and before 5am. I have tried looking into the app they recommend for it called TUYA but as far as I can tell there are just open and close options. Has anyone here used the CASA1 slider and successfully set up a schedule for it?
I’m a super rookie when it comes to this stuff but I am learning - help is appreciated <3
First things first: this forum is for people who are using the Samsung SmartThings™ home automation system. It is not a general home automation forum. So all of the questions and answers are assumed to be in that context.
Tuya is one of the largest manufacturers of home automation devices, and some of their devices can be used directly with smartthings or through Matter. However, in the case of Olide it’s a different issue yet again. Olide makes its own automatic door and window openers, but it uses the Tuya app (or the related Smart Life app) to bring its devices into other home automation platforms, particularly the smart speakers like Alexa and Google Home.
I myself have an Olide door opener, but as far as I know, there is only indirect integration to smartthings, usually via Alexa routines. And again, this forum is for people using SmartThings as at least one of their home automation apps.
so…
yes, olide does allow you to create schedules for their automatic door openers. Which app you use depends on the exact model and when you buy it, because they have changed some of these integrations over time.
However, none of that has anything to do with Samsung SmartThings, so unless you’re interested in using that system as well, this is the wrong place for your question.
I suggest you get in touch with Olide. Over the years I have found their customer service to be very helpful. You didn’t say what country you were in, but here’s their US website. The English on the website and in the user manuals isn’t perfect, but when you contact them, you do usually get put in touch with someone with good English who will be able to help you.
