Agree, and by any chance, how much will be the cloud recording?? i just need an estimated price
to know if its worth it to wait
Live streaming will always be free. Recording clips within Smart Home Monitor will be $4.99/month.
THANK YOU
Ramping support for a bunch of cameras is neat, but BlueIris supports a ton of them already and is overall pretty awesome. Not sure how many people in the ST customer community use it, but I’m heavily invested (also have it integrated with ST Hello Home actions). Anyway, it publishes my wide variety of cameras in the same MJPEG format, will you support these generic sort of feeds on the local network similar to SmartTiles?

Jut wondering how many of us are WFH tomorrow?
Are there any devices that work with the existing v1 hub that won’t with the v2 hub (switches, sensors, door locks, Philips Hue, Sonos, etc.)?
Everything that works with v1 hub will work with v2 hub
All locally-connected devices will work, but some software features, most notably shortcut groups, don’t work with V2 at present.

Groups of lights, previously configurable in Lights & Switches, are no longer supported in quite the same way. However, SmartThings intends to bring back this functionality shortly. Alternatively, set up a Routine to control several lights, or explore what Smart Lights has to offer.
Also, the new app does not yet work with smart watches, so we have also lost watch widgets for the time being. (That’s on the support website somewhere, but I don’t remember exactly where. Even my mental indexing system broke down with the quantity of new stuff that came out today.
)
How about the Aeon Minimote and Button Controller SmartApp? I’m gonna hold you to it.
A little birdie told me it should work… mostly. ![]()
Please forgive my pessimism, but ST has a very poor track record when it comes to “still working towards…” Would you like a list of all the things that you’re “still working towards”? I could detail from a user perspective or from a developer perspective. In either case, it’s quite a long list.
“Working towards” (or “in a few weeks”) usually ends up meaning “less than a 50% chance of happening.”
Please, prove me wrong.
Edit: The really sad thing, in my opinion, is that ST has led everyone to believe that hubV2 would be the fulfillment of all those things they are “still working towards.” Now we’re finding out it’s not really. In fact, I’m having a very hard time figuring out what the different between v1 and v2 is for me. Everything will still run in the cloud, and I don’t have a camera. BLE isn’t enabled, the USB ports don’t seem to do anything, and my hub is on the same UPS as my network switch (and if either goes down, it doesn’t matter if there’s a battery backup because everything runs in the cloud still.)
Looool, I am working from home today too…
Okay, I’ve officially started looking again…
Would it be possible to order direct from smartthings and get my hub sooner? I’ll cancel the amazon order. I know I’m just being an annoying consumer, but I’m really not too happy that I preordered through amazon per the ST instructions…only to find that was wrong and I now have to wait an extra week. That’s pretty poor if we’re being honest.
On the brighter side, if you already have a v1, you can start excluding your devices taking your own sweet time!
So does excluding a device stop it from working in the current hub? Man, zwave is so much more confusing then zigbee.
Can the USB be used with a USB cellular modem for internet connectivity?
Is that a trick question?
If you have tons and tons of zwave devices, you may want to start excluding. Believe it or not the ST support site has steps to do that for most of the popular/supported zwave devices
yes…
Ahh humor… I wouldn’t start excluding my zwave devices until I get my hub v2. They won’t work then.
