Unfortunately you can’t see routes anywhere. Some community edge drivers are adding signal strength metrics to their Drivers so you can see those. Devices will show a cloud with line through it icon when they drop off.
The Whole point is to be able to add an Alexa routine to a smartthings automation without having to do voice control or even being home. 
Lots of people use Alexa as an intermediary two devices which don’t have a SmartThings integration but do have an Alexa integration.
Just as one example, I have a Frigidaire window air conditioner which doesn’t integrate with anything except Alexa. But I can use an ST virtual switch to get to it that way, and turn it on only if I’m home, the temperature reaches a certain level, and the window is not open.
And I have another one to integrate with my Eufy robot vacuum. That one will run only if I’m not home.
Again, lots of people use it for different purposes, but usually something like this. You have a device which does work with Alexa but doesn’t work with smartthings. You want to use it in a ST routine without having to speak a command. 
Oh wow, that’s REALLY disappointing. Do you think there is any chance for a user-accessible interface to ever be developed to let us see all that useful information again? I mean, there was SO much data, controls, and logging on that page…
Any chance? Sure. I was told support can pull that info for Edge devices, so that means the data is there. But I don’t know of any plans to make it customer facing again.
I cannot get the ikea 5 button to pair as an edge driver, at all. Some people have, but not me.

I uninstalled and re added the ikea 5 button multiple times. ( i have no custom device handlers for buttons). I even added a custom edge driver. Then uninstalled and re paired. It did not work.
The SmartThings buttons paired fine. But Ikea ones did not.
So you are able to pair it to the hub and it does not work after it is paired? OR you can’t pair it?
Did you enable the Zigbee Button in the Smart Things Edge Driver beta? The device seems to be included in the driver.
When you enrolled, did you install the Zigbee Button?
In the SmartThings app, find your hub and open the dialog.
Press the three dots in the upper right corner and select Driver.
Make sure it shows SmartThings Drivers (Beta) at the bottom in the channels area and that Zigbee Button is in the list.

Does it show placeholder on the left side of the line?

Trying to use smartlighting and the button isn’t coming up. Only when using routines I see it.
Is this normal?
Using routines you could effectively use up like 10 routines, given we only have 200 limit, that’s a ball ache.
If a device is using an edge driver, the information in the IDE will be incomplete, incorrect, or out of date. It will probably say “cloud“ even though it’s running local. Any routes shown will be old. Other information may be missing or inaccurate.
As long as it says “placeholder“ in the IDE it’s using the new architecture, but you can’t count on anything else there, and don’t worry about it. It won’t affect the functioning.
FAQ: Why does the IDE list “placeholder” for my device? Can I change that?
Thanks, I do not understand why if I look for new Devices, Duplicates are added, and in the ide they are indicated with placeholders.
But it’s not a problem, just curiosity
