Hello
i have started to get this problem where my TCP light bulbs won’t turn off from any ST app or the tiles. i am able to make the work for a short time if i redo the connection steps then i can turn them on and off any ideas ?
A fix that someone suggested before would that Andriod users use Tasker to sign in to the Tcp lights app in the lab on a daily basis.
You can find the workaround script here:
Is this script going into smartthings as a a smart app, or is this going into tasker directly?
This unfortunately is a just a tasker script that refreshes the log for TCP lighting in Smartthings. You will need tasker + Autoinput for this work around
It appears @twack may have fixed the issue.
Can you link the post please? Thanks!
Something broke badly in my Smartthings / TCP lighting integration starting last night / this morning. Folks are reporting it (myseld included) here:
Happened to me last night, still not working
Probably due to the forced update of the smartthings hub a few days ago. I’m trying to remove all my bulbs now, including the smart app. Frustrating.
Randy-- some folks (myself included) got their ST hub and TCP lights working again last night. Before you do anything hasty, try re-auth’ing TCP within your ST app? :]
[EDIT - 4/27]
It looks like the 4/21 ST Android App update may have broken things (I can still control via the crappy TCP app, so it’s likely a TCP / ST integration issue again). Woke up this morning to a dark house. Rebooting my router, ST hub, TCP hub didn’t work.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
My TCP lights have completely disappeared from SmartApps.
While I can “re-auth” them, when I go to my devices, the TCP lights I
had don’t appear in the list.
I don’t understand who is breaking integration - TCP or Samsung, but it’s really annoying.
An update from Support:
I am writing to let you know that this bug is affecting other users as well, and that we’ve brought it to the attention of our developers.
Right now we’re investigating this, and working towards a resolution for it.
It is one of our primary concerns right now for restoring this functionality in the SmartThings App.
I’ve tagged this ticket in our internal tracking system, and when our developers provide us an update on this matter, we will reach out and notify you via email with updates on this.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we work to resolve this.
edit: for what it’s worth, all of my bulbs show up in “things”, but I have 100+objects so it’s a bit of a pain. All the bulbs do work, and operate normally/expected with automations. I simply dont have access to them in their respective rooms.
Just go into the ide, edit devices, and add a hub to the TCP bulbs.
Awesome – thanks dude, that worked on my app.
Cheers!
Tonight my TCP integration stopped working. It has been working consistently for a while (something rare on ST lately) . Anyone else experienced this lately?
This is a constant problem with TCP connect lights and NOT just with ST integration but with TCP app and even with the TCP connect remote. With the Hue white’s price drop to $14 , we are replacing all of the TCP bulbs with Hues. Nothing is more annoying that shutting off the bedroom lights after getting into bed at night and having them not respond until you get out of bed , go into the office and power cycle the TCP hub.
Mine has also stopped. I’m not going to put any more time in to trying to make them work. I had no idea that the Hues dropped that much in price. Any chance the BR30’s will drop too?
Mine started working again today. By the way, last night they worked with the TCP app, but not with the ST app.
Mine stopped responding to ST commands last week. I re-ran the authentication module for TCP in ST app, and that fixed my issues.
Overall, they used to be great bulbs (when Lan > Lan worked), but they’ve been abandoned, or just not given much love. My most common issue (was/is not happening since I re ran the authorization) was that they’d get an OFF (or ON) command, do the action (at least in the ST app), then go back to the previous state.
But yeah, once Hue bulbs drop a bit lower I may move away from the TCP bulbs.
sigh.
good luck on trying the re-auth, it helped me out!
