Switching routers on SmartThings Mesh Wifi

I don’t understand. All I want to do is hook up my Arris Surfboard Modem to SmartThings Wifi Mesh. Right now I have an old modem connected to my SmartThings WiFi Mesh and i want to switch it. How can I?
