If you use the SwitchBot Hub 2, it can act as a matter bridge, allowing you to bring many of the SwitchBot devices into your SmartThings account locally without requiring custom code. But this integration method does require that you have a SmartThings/Aeotec hub.

If you don’t have a SmartThings/Aeotec hub, you can still use the SwitchBot hub 2 to create an integration to your SmartThings account, but the integration will be cloud to cloud.

Just a note, since I haven’t seen this mentioned very often. Although the Hub 2 does allow you to bring SwitchBot devices into SmartThings, it’s limited to only 8 devices per hub. Once I added the temp/humidity meters I have around the house (including the separate ones for temp and humidity built in to the hub) plus my one Blind Tilt, I am maxed out.
