SThings Notifications options

ST will send a Push Notification and/or a Text Message when there is a Home Monitor breach or when a Routine Runs.

The messaging app (S23+) can use a default phone sound for ST messages, or a different phone sound can be assigned.

ST uses the same notification sound on my phone (S23+) whether it notifies me that the outside lights are turned on at sunset or if the house is on fire.

Has anyone figured out a way for ST to assign a different phone sound for different events?

Thanks.

Maybe a third party app like tasker?

There was a discussion in this topic for creating custom notifications for Galaxy phones using “Tasks and Routines” in conjunction with ST Routines.

Thank you, Bruce. I think the discussion you reference is how to change the one-and-only ST notification sound for all ST events. I need to have the phone or ST differentiate between different events and trigger an assigned sound so I can tell by the sound what ST event is triggered. Again, thanks.

Thanks Andrew. I tried Tasker years ago and found it quite capable. At the time it added an additional layer of ‘calculation’ to a routine which created some delays. I will revisit it to see if it solves my question. Thanks.

I’m doing it with @joshua_lyon Sharptools and Pushover. Josh even added support to play Pushover custom sound that can be any mp3 file you choose. In my case I receive sound notification in my language (Hebrew) when all the lights in my home turned off. Very useful.

No , not just the SmartThings global sound, there’s a bit I added further down that describes custom sounds per event. I have a custom sound for my driveway sensor
