STH ETH 200, Fold 7 problem

Hi, I want to connect Devolo Z-Wave Plus smoke detectors to my Fold 7 phone. I have an STH ETH 200 hub that I haven’t connected to anything yet. The hub pairs with my phone via Smarthings without any problems. When I try to add a new Z-Wave device, the phone searches for it via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, not the hub via Z-Wave. When I go to the hub, there’s no option to add devices. After a reset, the blue LED lights up and stays blue. What could I be doing wrong? How can I add devices so the hub can find them?

Can you see the hub in the SmartThings app?

It is possible the hub has no internet.

Hi, The internet connection is fine. The LAN port LEDs are blinking, and the router shows that the hub has a valid IP address. In the SmartThings app the hub appears as “connected”, but it does not respond to ping.

When I start resetting, the LED blinks yellow and then stays solid yellow.
I release the reset button and it starts blinking blue, then becomes solid blue.
Unfortunately, my Hub V2 never enters the red/green blinking reset mode.
It only shows blue → yellow → blue again.
It seems the firmware is corrupted.

Blue indicates - Hub is claimed and connected to the network, but has no internet or server connection.

You will not be able to connect devices to it until the hub is able to connect to the ST cloud.

ensure the following ports are open on your router:

  • 11111
  • 9443
  • 443
  • 39500
  • 37

try a new Ethernet cable.

I suspect your are experiencing the expired security certificate so read the troubleshooting guide in the following thread to block port 123 UDP. That thread also applies to the V2 hub. remember to open port 123 UDP up to complete the process.

resetting the V2 hub:

  • Ethernet cable needs to be connected
  • Remove any batteries if using
  • Power off the hub, Press the reset slot and while doing that, plug the power cord back in.
  • when you get the solid Yellow led, the hub has been reset and you can release pressing the reset slot
  • soon after, you should see the alternating red/green which indicates the hub is ready to be claimed

Thank you very much for your response.

I was able to block port 123 successfully, but it turned out that port 37 is blocked on my network, and that’s something I can’t bypass. The amount of time I’ve spent trying to revive this hub has already exceeded the price of buying a new one.

Do you know if the newer SmartThings hubs also rely on port 37?

at this point, you should speak with ST Staff and they are online weekdays.
