ST will not run in background Galaxy S8

Recently (last few months), my ST on Samsung Galaxy S8 is not recognizing the phone coming or going. If I drive down my driveway, ST should recognize my presence and turn on certain lights. Only if I launch ST on my phone will the routine run. Same thing happens when leaving. I’ve turned off battery optimization, made sure location is enabled, and no change. My wife’s IPhone still works, triggering routines when she comes and goes. I’ve tried every setting I can think of, removed the app and reinstalled, and no improvement.

Does it fail completely without opening the app, or will it eventually detect, albeit taking too long? I have a S9 and used a S6 before that. On the S9, the presence always detects, but sometimes its delayed.

My wife’s S5 had this problem too. There are 2 places you need to check…

SETTINGS > APPS > SPECIAL ACCESS > BATTERY OPTIMISATION and add the ST app there

DEVICE MAINTENANCE > BATTERY and add ST to un-monitored apps.

Which SmartThings app? New or classic?

Everything and Anything called Smartthings :slight_smile: …add them both. Hopefully it should work after that.
