ST automatic routines stopped triggering

My ST hub “automatic routines” stopped triggering most of the time a couple months ago. Test them and they run but will not trigger very often or takes house for the one pictured here.

I was having network trouble back then so I reset its connection to hue. Manual routines work, auto routines just won’t trigger like they used to, anyone else have this problem?

I must have reset the connection to Hue 4 times now, same result. See image of example

  • have you tried deleting/recreating the Routines?
  • nit picking - assign the devices to Rooms :slight_smile:

I’m having trouble with all my Hue lights and SmartThings control. I can turn the Hue lights on via the SmartThings app, but the light icons in ST app just spin, and I never get the on/off status. I cannot turn them off via ST (in the ST app or via buttons, etc.).

Turning them on and off in the Hue app is fine. I can also control them via Google home voice commands, and they’re added via the Google-ST integration (this part is bizarre to me).

I use the Hue integration with ST (bulbs not directly connected to my ST hub).

This all started yesterday at some point (5/29/25).

I have a feeling the SmartThings-Hue integration is broken.

You may want to create a new thread as your issue is not related to the question about Automations not running. Yes.. they contain Hue lights but those are running fine for the OP as noted that test works.. only Automatic Routines don’t.

I just tested manual and auto routines and they will also not control the lights, identical to the OP. The automations run successfully, but the lights do not change state.

Your issue is about Hue devices not working in ST… of course routines will not work as well. But his post is about Hue devices that are working in ST and only the Routines are not working. Totally different from your post.

I have played around with that routine 100 ways the last two months. But will try adding rooms and recreating again.
But lots of other auto routines not triggering either, ever heard of this? Factory reset?

I would not factory reset. Try deleting/recreating the Routines or test with a few to see if it resolves the problem. If that fails to fix it, contact ST support through the app by tapping on Menu and selecting Contact us > Error reports
