Wait.
You mean there’s a way to get the live video stream from this camera without going through the samsung cloud?
Can someone confirm that?

Its been working great for me throughout today but ive just come back to it and its hanging at the login prompt. I have seen in various threads (this one included) that other Samsung camera’s had this function initially that has since been revoked so im really hoping this isnt whats happened to me now. It could just be i need to reboot this laptop as its been trying to install various updates all day! i will try again when i eventually reboot and report back for you @mdawson. Given i can still get to the login prompt you might want to just try yourself too. (if you remove the username:password@ from the start of the url it will prompt for these details. If you include them in the Url itself it will just take you straight to the feed.
There are a few other options - like static image and lower quality feeds. This page is what inspired me… http://developer.samsung.com/forum/board/thread/view.do?boardName=SDK&messageId=277329&startId=zzzzz~
Anyone else having trouble with Foscam streams lately? I had these working fine on my dashboards, but, they have vanished. I tried setting up a new dashboard and still no luck. I have verified the stream url, etc.
Thanks!

My D-Link cameras disappeared completely, dont know why. They seem to work on an old test instance I have of smarttiles, but on the SmartTiles Connect dashboards the camera streams are gone
Make sure your video stream starts with http
, all lower case. You probably have it as Http
. We will fix it with the next patch.

So I have tried ispy and can’t get that to install on my computer. Is there anything else I can use to get my D-Link cameras working with SmartTiles?
I have DCS-2330L and DCS-5222LB1
That was it!
Thank you for the info!

Anyone gotten Quicktime Broadcaster or Darwin Streaming Server feeds to work with SmartTiles?
That would let any modern mac act as an IP camera.
Quicktime (.MOV) embedding is rather “non-standard”, these days. Can they stream out mjpg
?
Did you ever get these working? I have a DCS-2330L and can’t figure out the URL to put in Smart Tiles.
Does the above quoted URL or similar work??
Have you checked the MJPEG section of the manual?
All the other research I have suggests that the DCS-2330L might not have an HTTP based MJPEG stream.
You can use the SMV (Stop Motion Video) feature of SmartTiles, however, to update every 5 seconds or so, if you use the URL for the .jpg
snapshot…
The issue I think is that if I bring up the link http://myurl/video1.mjpg on my computer I get a username and password dialog box so when I put that in SmartTiles I just get a blank box because it’s not authenticating. I tried to pass the username & password by using:
http://username:password@myurl/video1.mjpg
http://myurl/video1.mjpg?user=user&pwd=password
All with no luck. I purchased this camera because it was listed as an officially supported camera by Smart Things but to be honest I would rather have it supported by SmartTiles so that I can have a tablet mounted on a wall that I can see live streaming of who/what is at my front door. I may just return it and get a Foscam.
Not a bad option…!
But worth doing a bit more research I use “IP Cam View Basic” on Android which works with an incredible number of cameras. I suppose it perhaps can pass the login and password as HTTP “POST” or other protocols instead of “GET” in the URI.
I wonder if there’s any way that SmartTiles could slip these in. We’d probably defer work on this until SmartTiles V6 though…
Currently I am using BlueIris v4. I was able to get static images using the JPEG pull on my SmartTiles, but not full motion MJPEG. Any tips? Currently I just have it refresh every 2 seconds, but continuous video would be rather nice.
BTW, first post after reading a ton. Also fairly new to ST. SmartTiles is what I have been looking for, so keep up the good work!
It may be that Blue Iris v4 only supports H.264 (?) compressed video, which SmartTiles currently does not support (each browser handles this differently, if at all?).
The MJPEG URLs used to be of this form … try one? Try in at home on same network first, then you might need to port forward…
http://IPADDRESS/mjpg/[CHANNEL]
This works for me.
Http://user:password@internal ip:port/mjpg/cam1
Cam1 is my camera name.
Of all the cameras in all the world and you figured it out for mine! The link works and puts the feed in the dashboard but the image craps out after 3 seconds and doesn’t come back. The same happens when I go to the link directly on my browser. What settings are you using for the camera and are you using mjpeg or the stop motion setting in SmartTiles?
Thanks in advance.
Got it, Sub stream bit rate was too high.
To confirm, the Samsung Smartcam that works with Smartthings, does not work as a tile for smarttiles, correct?
I have my foscams working fine now, but, it appears the same type of url option is not available for the Smartcam.
