Smartthings support attitude / screen cast

i troubleshot trying to get my android 8 phone
to screen cast to samsung smart tv tizen using
smartthings app for
2 hrs with support tech. They sent me to smartthings support.

smartthings support told me the product only
woeks with samsung phones and no others.
this is to say if a person purchases a samsung
tizen tv they are expected to buy a samsung
phone as well? This is r***.
