I’ll just leave this here:
That’s pretty cool. Too bad I have a Ring doorbell instead
Will this work with SmartThings hub v1(for the video recording part)?
Yes,
Currently the videos will be recorded on the SkyBell cloud and not ours.
What about the still pictures? Are they directly integrated into ST?
On SmartTiles is it or will it be possible to “stream” still pictures and show directly on the smartiles dashboard? Updating every 5 second for example?
Or would it from ST be possible to send a picture to my email when button is pushed?
They are, they are viewable in a carousel tile.
Depending on the SkyBell API you may run into some rate limiting.
UK support coming anytime soon?
How’bout’em rings?
@slagle I am guessing this is not available in the UK? We seem to get left behind a lot on new integrations.
Currently SkyBell does not support sales in the UK.
How are apps that are critical to the eco prioritized relative to integrations such as this? Local processing, for example.
I understand that reliability is prioritized above everything, but then we see this. It clouds the issue. The message, if not through explicit communication, at least through implied intent… is entirely different. @alex is late again. I guess @alex is on the same ticker timer that the rest of ST is on.
Foot. Shoot. Repeat.
Perfect recipe for credibility dilution.
Now that SkyHell has been integrated does that mean Ring integration is out of the picture?
You can buy it from skybell.com It even ships to Norway where I’m actually located
How about settings like “sensitivity”?
Would you set that up in the official app and then the setting i saved in the SkyBell, or where?
Just the messenger relaying information given to us by SkyBell.
Not everyone at SmartThings is a cloud engineer. The ones that can affect core stability are focused on core stability the ones that write integrations are writing integrations (SkyBell integration wasn’t even written by us, SkyBell wrote it and we certified it), etc…
So although the cloud team is intensely focused on stability and reliability, it would be unrealistic to expect the rest of the company to stop their work streams.
Trying to use CoRE to turn my outside light ON when motion is detected and its not working.
Is there any other SmartApp that’s been tested to turn lights on/off with motion with ST ?
thanks
It’s all politics, man. We are in full season…But I am glad to see some movement. Hopefully more coming.
What’s wrong with using Smart Lighting for that? And CoRE is working for me, you might consider posting your piston for feedback on this thread:
Bobby,
thanks for pointing me to the right thread… posting there now…
