Smartthings multi sensor v3 on non flush surface?

Hi, how are you supposed to do this?

Can I do like so? Or will I need some custom magnets?
Feeling disappointed of this design… Why didn’t they make the magnet part square in the other end??

I have fitted them that way successfully, you are better fitting them temporarily, then checking the app.
PS they dont need to be touching, I have fitted them where the contacts were up to about 20mm apart and still work ok

Thanks. It’s strange they don’t have a fitting manual.
Also the magnet piece should have been square or flat , don’t understand this design desicion with curved magnet box. I know maybe they think it looks better but it limits mounting options.
