SmartThings HUB Lost All Sensors

When I log into SmartThings on my phone (Android) it tells me my hub is offline and all my switches and sensors are offline but my Samsung Soundbar, TV, and camera are all good. I even get video from the camera. It also tells me my thermostats are connected.

I was wondering if this might be related to the recent email I got from SmartThings see below. And if there is some way to down grade.

Yes, it very well could be as i received another email saying the update was being paused due to user feedback.

That note was in the same email.

Anything I can do about this? Can I check to see if Samsung has an update scheduled?

If I go to the SmartThings HUB IDE it tells me my hub is ‘INACTIVE’.

what is the state of the LED on your hub?

@JDRoberts have you opened a help ticket yet?

Who, me? I’m using a “hub optional“ configuration now.

what is a “hub optional” configuration? wifi only?

WiFi and cloud to cloud integrations. No hub.

I think that is going to be allot more common as things progress. I know i would fall into that same classification as well.

Or you could call it “External hub” configuration.

SmartThings calls it “hub optional” when they use examples of someone who has a Samsung smart appliance and a few smart home devices, but no hub.

In my case, I was using Lutron for light switches anyway, Hue bridge for smart bulbs, some meross devices and Switchbot. My mission critical stuff is all on homekit, including some zigbee sensors I bring in through a xaomi camera base station. I also moved my zwave stuff to a different hub with a longer MFOP. But SmartThings is still useful for some of the jazzier but not as critical stuff. :sunglasses: :rocket:

I was referring to my setup with Hubitat as my Zwave/Zigbee hub. Referring to that as being a external hub.

I use a app called Hubconnect that allows the Hubitat cloud to connect to the Smartthings cloud without a hub. That is now my state since the ADT Smartthings Panel retirement has been announced and i have completed prep to phase that out.

@JDRoberts I was checking with you to see if @TAC issue after hub v3 update with hub and sensors offline, if he should open a helf desk ticket.

I would, it can’t hurt.

My HUB came online last night at 2 am and everything looks like it’s working fine.

What is kind of strange, well really strange, is that when my this problem originally showed up I also lost contact with my Honeywell thermostats and WiFi MyQ garage door opener. When I got the notification that my SmartThings hub was back online the thermostats and garage door were also back in business.

I know my whole WiFi system wasn’t down because I did have access to a few Wyze cameras, a SmartThings camera, Ring doorbell.
