SmartThings/Arlo Camera Integration

Smarttings - in history the arlo cameras i’ve connected to Smartthings are showing motion detected and then at the same time as the motion detected, another history event with no motion. But my arlo camera app is showing no motion reported for the cameras. I just noticed this (checking battery strength on an arlo camera) but Smartthings history shows it has been happening starting at least as far back as Smartthings history goes (7 days)

I’m not sure I understand your question, can you please reword this?

Smartthings is reporting motions for Arlo cameras but the Arlo cameras have not registered motion… In Smartthings history one sees events for the camera as follows:
8:25pm Arlo Camera
Motion sensor: Motion detected
8:25pm Arlo Camera
Motion sensor: no motion
8:25pm Arlo Camera
Motion senor: Motion detected
8:25pm Arlo Camera
Motion sensor: no motion
8:29pm Arlo Camera
Motion senor: Motion detected
8:29pm Arlo Camera
Motion sensor: no motion
But in the Arlo application there is no motion reported.
This is causing problems with the automations in which I use Arlo camera motion detection to turn on lights - the lights flicker on and off, on and off…

When you say the Arlo cameras haven’t registered motion, do you mean they’re not recording video in your library? If that’s the case, do you have them set up to record? Or did something change in the way you record video on motion in the Arlo app?

I have a few routines to have my Arlo cameras record. For instance, if my garage door opens during the night time (tilt sensor), one of my Arlo cameras will record. I can confirm that that is working fine.

Yes there is no video and all cameras are set up to record. I have made no changes. The only thing that has changed is a Smartthings Hub (I have a V2) firmware update completed July 1st, 2024. Your setup is a bit different in that you are using Smartthings to drive the recording by an Arlo camera, I’m using an Arlo camera sensing motion (and normally recording) and then Smartthings to switch on lights (to enhance the recording in the night only).

I originally thought this behavior was restricted to my newer H10 cameras (I have a mixture of cameras , H3, H4, H6, H10 and even an H8 in my German apartment) but then I just had Smartthings report motion on an H3 camera which triggered a routine to turn on lights - but no recording in Arlo.
