SmartThings Android App Update 1.8.27.22 ( 7 January 2025)

  • The app settings include an option to link to Samsung Health that I’ve not seen before. Possibly tied in with Family Care.
  • Home Insights remains badly broken.
  • Installed SmartApps still can’t be updated (that’s been several months now).
  • Map View still has no useful scaling rendering it unusable.
  • Those who had Android Auto issues report those have been fixed.
  • The option to give devices to another user, which arrived unheralded and then quietly vanished, still hasn’t reappeared.
  • I can’t remember looking at Family Care before. Don’t know if that is new but that asks to use the health data. Had a quick look around and deleted it with extreme prejudice. Just no, Samsung.

Ah yes, I remember reading that now. Still a very big no from me.

So unimpressed was I that it finally motivated me to delete the Energy app too.

I have not seen any significant changes.

My Smart lighting automations still can’t be viewed, edited or created.

Do you see listed devices under your hub device? That’s also been an on-going problem here.

All three of my hubs show connected devices; Wi-Fi Hub (Plume), ST Station, Refrigerator Family Hub.

I see that option in the app. 3-dot menu on the Devices tab.

The only devices listed once I select the option are the ones attached to my ST Station (which all happen to be Matter devices, both Thread and Wi-Fi).

The list of connected devices are still missing from the hub detail pages of my 4 hubs.

Which hubs do you have?

If have 2 v2 hubs, 1 Station, and 1 Moes Matter Bridge. The Moes bridge shows up like a hub in SmartThings Mobile App. But in the AWA the Moes bridge only shows up as a device not a hub

Before the holidays all 4 hubs had lists of connected devices in the Mobile App. Now none of them do.

The only one we have in common is the ST Station. Strange that I see connected devices for that hub and you don’t. I’m in the USA…perhaps a regional issue?

Ah yes, I can see it is still on two other phones. I should have checked.

It may be it only shows if it can do anything. They are a bit inconsistent like that.

It looks like it may have been sorted out a bit. Originally it didn’t seem to cope with hub connected devices being owned by a different user to the hub itself, either not listing the hub or not being able to transfer it.

Now it looks like hub connected devices are being listed under the user that owns the hub, which I guess makes sense in terms of the functionality of the utility, but not so much in terms of device ownership.

EU here. Hubs and Matter bridges show the connected devices.

I am also in the US, so they is not the issue.

Just wondering, have you added/replaced any devices that employ matter, ie, Eve Switches or Outlets? I have replaced about 20 of my z-wave switches with Eve Switches, and a couple of weeks later is when the issue surfaced.
As stated earlier, my V2 and Aetoec V3 are fine but they do not have any matter devices connected to those hubs. I’m trying to ascertain if this is in any way related…

Yes, I have Matter devices at both locations. I have no idea if that is related
