Smarttag2 device sharing

Hello, I have a single UK smarttag 2 which is connected OK on my samsung A54.
Both my self and my partner have A54s and Samsung accounts, both in the same country etc. We can see each other’s phones in the ‘find’ app.
For some reason I cannot share the smart tag. When I select 'share this device’s location I get the following message “a network or server error occurred. Try again later”. My assumption is that I am doing something wrong but am completely lost as to the cause or fix. Any ideas please?
