You might as well sent the cameras back as you will have a lot of frustration with them.
Also, it seems as Samsung completely forgot about their existence so there are event features that were critical to me that (along with lack of google support) disappeared like the ability to save the pictures from motion events into google pictures.

It takes around 2-5 seconds. it isnt bad for what I am going to use it for. Ill put a camera under an eve in my backyard to turn on a light during ‘night’ or ‘away’

I actually like the ability to set the zone for motion and it seems to work pretty well. this will let me avoid areas where there will be a lot of motion from pets.

your comment gave me an idea. I added an IFTTT applet to store the photo in the gmail sent folder to google drive…

so far things are working as I need. with the motion arming devicehandler and the motion events through ifttt I am pretty happy. the cameras cost $60 on amazon so im not sure i could get a better experience with anything cheaper than that.

OK, so the price justifies. 1 and half year ago when I purchase them, they cost around 200$, at least in Europe

if you have any ideas let me know. As far as I can tell the only way to report motion is via email. I suppose I could write another piece of code to forward the dns requests for gmail in order to speed things up a bit. it might shave a second off things so debatable on if it would be worth it for my use case.

Larry or anyone who can help - I have the Samsung SHN-P6410BN cameras and Smarthings no longer supports them in the marketplace. I see that I can add a device on the IDE called Samsung Smartcam but how do I then active it and connect it to my actual camera?

I Don’t bother with the cameras in st anymore.Camera support is not very good anyway.

  1. It constant streams to the cloud so it has the last 10 secs when there is an alarm or movement. This overloads you wifi network with more than a few cameras.

  2. You cannot use them as motion detectors anyway in st.

I now just use the cameras with sd cards and let their own motion /recording routines work and check the camera app when i want to see what happened.
