Smart Lighting Working Inconsistently

there’s merit in the device momentary timer approach, it could even be implemented within the device itself, requiring no smart apps…
This has intrigued me enough to spend an hour on it while I’m at the ice rink…

and here it is, has it been an hour?

Configurable times are in the device preferences, add or edit whatever other options that you need.
This device also has the setLevel (dimmer) capability implemented, whatever value you use will be evaluated in minutes.
In other words, setting this devices dimmer level to 100 will cause the device to stay on for 100 minutes…

Update, I moved the button pressed event to the timer cycle end, it just makes more sense there.

Mine seems to be working fine this week. There was a scheduling issue that support fixed behind the curtains last week or so. Maybe you need the same fix.

Would be nice if they fixed it for everyone by default…

There is an update coming to SmartLights that should resolve at least a few issues. It should be in the next firmware release. (Date forthcoming - soon though)

You’re not ranting when you state simple facts. ST is incredibly inconsistent in performing basic tasks which makes it’s even scarier to consider more important functions like thermostat control. My lighting worked better months ago than they do now. The only good thing is I’ve stopped trying to do local troubleshooting, which was driving me mad, because I’m confident it’s SmartThings screwing things up. It really is amazing how bad the functionality can be and how little Samsung seems to care
