Shelly linked services: unable to add devices to another location

Hi.

I have numerous Shelly devices operating efficiently at my location A.

Some time ago, I added a new location B to my SmartThings.

Now I want to onboard more Shelly devices, but this time for the new location B. Unfortunately, there is a problem because a new devices still show up in ST in the old location A only.

Only location A is also visible in the linked services options.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hi, @Pajacyk0v

Can you provide more information, please?

  1. Are you the owner of location B as well?
  2. In location B, are the commands to the Shelly devices working properly?
  3. We’d like to check if we see two instances of this service in your account, can you open support access, please?

1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM

2. Enable support access to your account:

1. Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)

2. Log in to your Samsung Account

3. Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings

4. Toggle on Account Data Access

5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.

See more information about this access here: https://support.smartthings.com/hc/en-us/articles/36170233944852-Enabling-Account-Data-Access-for-Support

Hi @nayelyz,

Sorry for late answer but I overlooked your post somehow

AD1 Yes, I own all Locations, because I created them myself.

AD2 I cannot see any devices from related cloud services in location B. This is the problem. All devices from Shelly Cloud are only visible in location A, where I was when I added the integration with Shelly Cloud.

When editing a device from the Cloud integration, I can change its name and room, but not the entire location.

I want to be able to assign 20 devices located in the Shelly cloud equally to each location.

I checked the cloud integration for another provider (EweLink) and the result is the same. These devices are not visible anywhere outside of location A.

Hi, @Pajacyk0v
Something I forgot to ask was if being in the new Location B, when you try to add devices > select the Shelly Cloud > does it try to add the same devices to this location, or does it ignore the addition of new devices?
If you’re only using a single Shelly account, I think it will detect on its side that there’s already an existing connection with SmartThings.
I would need to confirm with the engineering team, but since you can’t decide which devices to install from a single account. I think you need to use two separate Shelly accounts, one for the devices of Location A and the other for the ones in Location B

Hi,

I checked on Location B and it try to add the same devices to this location. Splitting Shelly accounts may be a good hint!

ok, then, this proves that separating the devices into different Shelly accounts will help.
I know that from the SmartThings side, we can’t decide which devices are installed. The platform only receives the devices that the integration sends in the discovery interaction, which are those that have been certified as Works With SmartThings.

I made 3 locations in ST and 3 separate Shelly accounts. Fortunately, transferring registered Shelly devices between Shally Cloud accounts is very simple. Thanks again for your hints! :ok_hand:
