Samsung Vacuum not connecting

dang. fixed it on mine as noted above. @plantucha have you tried yet?

Your controls work? Mine still times out and says it can’t make a connection. Same issue over a year now.

on Android they do. They don’t on iOS. I don’t really use the controls. I mainly use the status to switch my SHM mode between Armed Home and Armed Away since it sets of my motion sensors.

The issue has been with IOS, it’s not fixed as Samsung has no interest in supporting Apples platform.

Not connecting to smartthings and not controlling from the app are two separate things. The firmware fixed not connecting. An iOS app update would be needed to fix not controlling.

FWIW, I still can’t connect to my vacuum.

POWERbot R9350, android samsung S5. I still can’t connect.

:-1: and your hub firmware updated?

Yes. 20.17

well damn. does it just keep searching and never find it when adding via the smart home connect app?

Is it connected in the Samsung Smart Home app?

Never really been able to control vacuum with iPhone in the ST App but had the option to turn on.

New firmware now makes it possible to control with Galaxy.

iPhone remains the same. Just Turn On.

Either way, its on a timer and does its thing everyday.

I think this is part of the confusion. Some people like me could never even get SmartThings to add the robot vacuum as a device. Others could get it added, but have never been able to use the app to manually control the vacuum. For me, the firmware update fixed the former. The iOS controlling issue still persists and I’m guessing would have to be addressed by a mobile app update since it does works on android. I don’t particularly care about manually controlling it from SmartThings since the Samsung Connect app works for that. But I am thrilled to have it connected to SmartThings now so I can add it to my automations. Particularly my security automations so I can change the armed mode based on status of the vacuum.

What is your network like? Is your Hub connected via ethernet to the Wi-Fi router that the robot vac is?

After trying to discover the robot vacuum in SmartThings, can you send hub logs by going here:

https://graph.api.smartthings.com/hub/list --> View Utilities --> Send Hub Logs

Let me know when you do and I can take a look and see if I can find the issue.

magic.
It connected. I changed nothing.

My vacuum stopped working 3 weeks ago and after many phone calls to samsung support It doesn’t work in either the Smart Home app or SmartThings app. In the SmartThings app it will connect and show in the dashboard the status of the vacuum however if you click on it the “Device Connection” error occurs. In The Smart Home app all that happens is it constantly says disconnected. Anyone else have this problem or is my vacuum just broken.
