I got a bunch of Ring Sensors to connect to my Smartthings V2 Hub, however it’s a little glitchy.
They do show up but have a bunch of diagnostic info that is not applicable. Also, they show up in security but not in the Home Insight Settings under doors and windows in the dash board.
They do show as Z-Wave Sensor under driver.
This is what it looks like.
How do I get it to only show open/closed and how do I get it to show up as door/window sensor?
There may be a different driver that supports the specific capabilities of that sensor. Please take a screenshot of the Information screen located on the 3-dot menu. Also, please go to Driver on the same menu and let us know which driver is currently being used.
So, your device is definitely using the wrong driver since it’s using the zwave-switch. That particular fingerprint is different from the other Ring contact sensors that are supported by the Z-Wave Sensor CS driver maintained by @csstup Without the specific fingerprint, it won’t match a specific profile with the capabilities for that specific model, however, it might match on the generic fingerprint and provide a better experience than the current driver. I’d try that and hopefully Corey will look at this message and add the specific fingerprint to his driver. Subscribe to his channel here, enroll your hub, and install the driver.
Please go on the [ST EDGE] Z-Wave Sensor Driver Channel - including specific Ecolink, FortrezZ, HomeSeer, Monoprice and Zooz models thread and post the EXACT model/name of your Ring Sensors (or a link to where you bought them, Amazon, etc), plus the fingerprint as mentioned above. We can get them added with the specific capabilties/parameters they support.
