Ring doorbell. Pro speaker sound too low

Hi guys,

Hey guys, just got ring pro installed has to get it professionally installed as i didn’t have a old bell. Everything is cool but I’m not getting mobile voice on the doorbell speaker. I spent 2 hrs with the support on the call and all they could to increase it a bit but it’s still tiny.
And today even that’s gone again.

Has anyone faced the same. Problem?

Thanks
Faraz

Mine is pretty low too. I had an original Ring Doorbell that worked fine. I had replaced it with a Pro some time ago, but only made sure the video looked good, and the bell would ring. So I was surprised recently when I noticed how difficult it was to actually hear anything from the doorbell speaker.

What did they have you try to increase the volume?

I just installed my ring pro last week. I too have noticed that the volume coming out of the doorbell speaker is extremely low. I found this out when the first time I tried to use it with someone at my door, they actually had to lean down with her ear next to the ring doorbell in order to hear me. Ridiculous.

Hi, actually my ring bell volume got better itself after few days. It’s still not that loud but enough to have conversation.

Thanks
Faraz

Yea, unfortunately the Pro has a smaller speaker than the regular Ring

I’ve read dozens of Ring Pro Review every one of them mentioned Pro’s speaker being smaller. Unfortunately, there’s no way to increase it.

The volume of the “Pro” is just TERRIBLE! I’m thinking of taking it apart and attempting to solder the leads to the speaker which I can then port out of the device by drilling a little hole through the enclosure. I’m intimidated by this, despite being an electronics tech, because I know that making a connection within the tight geometries of the printed circuit board may be very difficult. If it works, then I can run those leads to a little amp and external speaker. I’ve tried to get attention from Ring to this, and a number of other shortcomings of the Ring but to no avail.

I know this is a super old thread. I just installed a ring doorbell pro, and I find it’s volume to be excessively loud! Perhaps they revised the unit and over compensated. Wish there was a way to manually control volume.

My speaker volume is too loud on the RING PRO. I am wondering if it has something to do with the TRANSFORMER specs. I am using a 16 volt 30va instead of the original 16 volt 10va on my mechanical doorbell.

I have 16v 30va transformer with the ring pro and have to almost yell into the my phone so i can be heard at the porch. I dont think its the transformer.

you really have to talk to the mic.
will ring tech support as I cant find how to increase the mic sensitivity

Hey Everyone,

So I figured out how to increase the speaker volume on my Ring Doorbell 2. I don’t know why this isn’t included in the instructions manual but on the cover of your Ring, there are two stickers attached to the side of the cover. You have to peel those off so that the speaker from the Ring is amplified even though the cover is on.

Hope this helps!
