RF integration now that ThingShield has been discontinued

Does anyone have any good ideas? I want to control my RF fans but can’t find any ThingShield boards anywhere.
I saw some instructions for a small web server and API but not clear enough.

I’ve seen people integrate Broadlink. The beauty here is it does RF and IR.
