Reintegration Hue after buying Aeotec Hub

I have integrated my Hue lights and sensors in the Smartthings app. It took some work to place them all on the map I’ve made from my house.
Now I bought the Aeotec hub. It tells me it is better to break the link with my Hue account and to link the Hue devices again with the hub. But when I do that I will loose all the work I’ve already done, and I’ll have to place them all again on the map.
Is linking Hue with the Hub in stead of with the app worth while the effort?
Can I link more devices (fe switches)?
Where do I find the Edge driver for Hue? Now I’ve installed the driver from Iquix. Is that the right one?

You gain local execution when you link your hue bridge directly to your ST hub. When only connected to the app it is a cloud to cloud integration.

There are several methods for connecting your Hue bridge.

  • Matter
  • ST native Edge driver
  • Cloud to cloud integration (your current method)
  • Custom Edge driver linked below

Where do I find this one?

Add device > Add Partner devices > Philips Hue > Next

(the linking your account in small text you see above the Next is the cloud to cloud linking - don’t click on that. as noted click on Next at bottom of screen and go from there.

I think I already did that:

if I translated that properly…

I believe you are going to need to remove the previous cloud to cloud link between your hue bridge and ST hub. You can do that in Menu > Settings (the bog in upper right of screen) > Linked services

I get an error:

I saw you and another user are having the issue so hopefully the developer will respond to you in the other thread.

I suppose I loose all the Hue devices I already put in the app?

If you do the Matter integration… you can leave the linked integration until you get the new devices set up as you want. Then remove the linked service.
