Really weird Sleepytime Fail (Jawbone UP24)

Two days in a row, really weird fail from the SmartThings-provided Sleepytime app.

This was working fine, then there was a platform change and it started failing, but I don’t know if that’s a coincidence.

I had not made any changes.

I reported it to support, they had an engineer look at it, but no fix.

Here’s what happens.

  1. last thing at night, I open the UP app, then press the UP button.

  2. the UP app synchs, the Night indicator comes on, and sleep tracking begins.

  3. ST should do the following:

a) log the button press
b) Change the status on the thing tile to Sleeping.
c)Trigger the Sleepytime smartapp to run the Good Night Hello,Home Action (which changes mode from Night to Asleep and turns off some lights.)

a) and b) happen. c) does not.

And to make things even more interesting: for the similar wake up sequence in the morning, all three things do happen! Sleepytime fires and runs Good Morning.

Same smartapp. I’ve changed nothing, but it now works only half the time.

Anyone using Sleepytime at night with an UP24? Is it working?

Wish I could check it for you but I am stuck with a weirder newer model…

@JDRoberts, do you have your Jawbone UP24 paired with an Android or iOS device. I found iOS is more reliable than Android with the Sleepytime app, but in general less reliable than setting up a separate button controller for the UP.

On a few occasions, I have had to uninstall Jawbone UP24 and reinstall it with SmartThings. I have not figured out what the cause is but you’ll start to see some inconsistency in logging UP button presses and executing actions.

IOS.

The Sleepytime fail occurred two nights in a row, then as it happened I didn’t use it until after midnight the next night and then it worked two nights in a row.

Just another mystery, I guess.
