Random lights on then off, when switch is turned off

This only happens in my dinning room. I have a Linear WD500Z-1 switch controlling 3 LED bulbs in a light fixture.

This has been working flawlessly for the past year, now all of a sudden with the light off, it will blink on the off…or turn on for a few seconds then off.

When the light is on it does not do anything funny.

I have looked in the ST app and I do not see any events for this light.

All my other switches are GE…could there be some type of compatibility issue??

Any suggestions before I change out the switch?

try replacing one of the three bulbs with an incandescent for a while. If it clears up then perhaps the load is barely too low for the switch.

those bulbs have been in there for over a year without issue. I will put in some regular bulbs to test.

Thanks

No loose wiring connections? Getting loose over time due to temp. Hey, I am an electrician so that’s the first thing popped up in my mind

I have a switch that does the same thing on LEDs. Is this a dimmer switch by chance?

I have an extra dimmer laying around I intend to swap out. I won’t be able to swap it out until the rain stops here because it’s a basement and I’ll be completely in the dark. I hate working by flash light.

That was the first thing I checked. Popped the switch out and made sure all wires where secure.

So far tonight it has not done it once…can anything interfere with zwave?

Does this happen when you hit the switch or does it only happen when you use the app?

It happens when I’m doing nothing. Just sitting there…blink.

If light is on it works perfect.

It’s also strange that it only seems to happen after 10:00 at night

OK, fine from 8:00 when I turned it off, now at 10:45 it blinks…

IDE shows no events for this switch…guess I am going to try and swap out the switch tomorrow

Replaced the switch and problem is solved

I’m having almost the same issue - but the switches are showing events in the IDE:

What is intriguing is that the dimmer level is changing - I’m pretty sure it defaults to it’s last set level - which is why I’m wondering if there is some interference possible.

It’s a 3 way switch, so I’d like to avoid replacement as my automation budget is limited - though I’ve heard the GE’s are a little better than the Linears…
Thoughts?
