Problem re-adding GE ZW3008 to V2 hub

Recently I accidentally blew away my SmartThings, so I have to exclude and then re-add my ZW3008 switch. Keep in mind that the switch was working flawlessly in my SmartThings set-up as a single device. I was able to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to get the switch re-added, but during this process 2 devices were excluded and then 2 devices were re-added instead of the expected 1 device.

After re-adding the switch I installed the edge driver from philh30 (see the screen shots) and switched to this driver on the 1st device. I did not have to switch the driver for both devices. When I switched the driver for the 1st device the driver for the 2nd device was automatically switched to the same driver at the same time. I named the 1st device “Kitchen ceiling lights”. It’s able to use all functions as it should. I named the 2nd device “Kitchen dimmer switch 2”. It has no access to any functions or controls.

Am I using the wrong driver?

Usually you install the driver first and then add the devices. Switching drivers is not a good idea in most situations.

So, delete the devices and add them back.

Your solution worked. I guess if I would’ve known in advance that I would’ve needed a custom Edge driver for this switch I would’ve done it. In this case, I installed this switch about 4 years ago and it’s one of those devices that automatically had their driver converted from groovy to edge during Samsung’s conversion.

Thanks for your help. I’ll have to remember this moving forward for any other device for which I need to install a edge driver.
