Currently on ebay from BestBuy and also direct from BestBuy you can snag the original Hue Lightstrip Starter Kit for $119.99
This includes the hub and 2 of the lightstrips. Most everywhere this is still selling for over $160. If you want some dim accent lights, this will do that.
NOTE: These are the original lightstrips, not the newer, brighter lightstrip plus. This includes a v1 Hue hub, not the Apple Homekit Compatible v2

I’ve never been a fan of the extenders. Always went with another switch or outlet since they are about the same price However for $15 I might have to change my opinion

I got persistent, since it wouldn’t work on wife’'s account ( one we use all the time), I logged out and tried with my account, still not eligible. Just for giggles I logged in as the daughter and it worked.
So link is good, just only for certain accounts
They do this a few times per year for each account. Just hits at different times for different accounts.

I bought my Home Control for this price from Best Buy in the fall. I had been researching and waiting for the drop and that seems to be where it drops to. The Home Control offers a bit more, but if you just want basic home theater control, then this will do that.
I just tried to read the Home Control vs Smart Control and wound up nowhere. Can I get the cheaper Smart Control $70 option and it still work with Echo and ST? Or do I need to get the Home Control one?
I didn’t even realize this was the Smart Control only. My mistake.
You would need the Home Control to tie with ST I believe.
