Post Requests for Zigbee Edge Drivers Here (community-created)

Oh sorry, my bad. Uninstalling and re-pairing did the job. Thanks for the quick response.

Good morning.

I have uninstalled the device and tried to pair with new driver you’ve upadated. However, the device kept pairing with Zigbee Things.

I have deleted the all Zigbee Things driver but the device is stuck to Things driver.

I am using Smartthings Station.
What can I do for this matter?

@Mariano_Colmenarejo,

Could you please add support for the Sonoff Zigbee Human Presence Sensor SNZB-06P:

Sorry, I just found out that Sonoff has made a driver themselves:

So far that one works OK for me.

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo

What do you think, is it not possible to make driver for this device?

I already used a lot of drivers from different packages from you, and you supported me several times for speciel fingerprint updates :+1:

I think if you cannot get this device to work, then it’s most likely not possible :frowning:

Thank you

Hi @Kina500

It’s not that I don’t want to do it, I don’t know how the multiple buttons on IKEA or Tuya work.
Each manufacturer handles them in a different way and they do not offer information on what attributes and values they use.

There are developers who do know how to handle zigbee buttons, I don’t know the reason or complications that these in particular may have.

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo

Thank you for reply.
It is not Tuya, no Ikea device work as Tuya device.
I think it works exactly like the other Ikea buttons, that already are supported in the ‘Smartthings Drivers (Beta)’, just nobody has added the fingerprint yet for this 7 key button.
2-3 other button devices from Ikea with 2 and 5 key, use same driver.

Do you know who made the Ikea button driver in ‘Smartthings Drivers (Beta)’ package? If I should ask another post.

I think if it were that easy someone would have done it already.

I understand your position, but I’m sorry, I already have too many tasks in my backpack and I don’t plan to add zigbee buttons

Hi @dirtymoe77,
Sorry, did not see your question.
Alas, not. My limited Edge expertise is restricted to Z-Wave drivers.
My Rodret is still on a Zigbee Thing driver.
I did find that I could ‘touchlink’ the Rodret with one of my Ikea LED drivers (without stealing/disconnecting the LED driver from my SmartThings hub) so that it works as a dimmer switch for it. So, without having a proper driver, I have the functionality I need.
If I do sit down an learn Zigbee Edge and develop a driver for Rodret, or find out about one, I will let you know.

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo : Will the thermostat driver work for Duraflame zigbee (IRIS) heater?

Hi @ramki_cmc

Sorry, I have no idea what this device is.

Hi,
I just bought the Ikea Rodret and I guess in the same boat as everyone else :frowning: …But you did mention ‘touchlink’ with an existing driver…What does that mean ???
Thanks

Touchlink applies to some Zigbee devices.

It allows you to bind a “Controller“ like a handheld remote to a smart bulb or light switch so that when you press a button on the controller the bulb will turn on or off without having to send a message through the smartthings hub.

When both the controller and the bulb are already connected to the smartthings Zigbee network, you can use this method to control the bulb, even if the controller just shows up as a “zigbee thing” in the smartthings app.

So, even though the controller won’t show up in routines in the smart things app, so you can’t use it with any other kinds of devices, you can at least use it as a parallel means of control for some zigbee devices. It doesn’t require any custom code.

This method of binding two Zigbee devices together is called “touchlink” and is part of the independent third-party zigbee standards. Not all Zigbee devices can do it, but it can be useful.

People have been using it for years to bring hue dimmers into their setup even though the dimmer itself only looked like a thing in the smartthings app. And reportedly it also works with some IKEA devices.

To use this method, the sequence matters.

  1. add both the controller and the target device to Smartthings. It’s fine if the controller only shows up as a “Zigbee thing”. Ideally, you’d want the target device to have a functional edge Driver, so you can use it with other routines as well.

  2. after both show up in the smartthings app, follow the manufacture instructions for using the touchlink method to bind the two together.

If you try to use touchlink before adding both devices to your smartthings network, the controller will probably steal the Target device from smartthings, and you will no longer be able to control it except from the controller. So just make sure both devices show up in your smartthings app list of devices before you try touchlink.

Also, do NOT Reset the Target device before using touch link. That would also remove it from smartthings.

you want to have the Target device Already working in smartthings, have the controller added to smartthings as a zigbee thing, and then use touchlink to bind them together, as a parallel means of control.

Again, this will only work with some Zigbee Devices being bound to some other Zigbee Devices. But it can definitely be useful. :sunglasses:

Thanks for the quick response and excellent explanation !!!

The last time I had an issue with a new device I wanted to add to my network, I remember the ‘old’ device handlers and how I could just easily add/modify them…I guess those days are gone…ha ha ha

I have no experience with Hue lights with this function, but for IKEA I would advise, while doing this, switching off power to all bulbs, except of course for the one you want to bind. Avoids surprises as this doesn’t necessarily seem to pair with the nearest light.

A post was split to a new topic: Iris DURAFLAME Space Heater (2023)

Hi, Can somebody help direct me toward a driver channel that can accustom this fingerprint for the Samsung hub?
